Give Big: Reducing Food Waste at Stanford

This course was run as a prototype for a full form spring course (Give Big; Redesigning the Higher Education Experience for Undocumented Youth). The class was a 2 day workshop (spread over 2 weekends) in which undergraduate and graduate students worked with both human centered design and systems analysis. Using these tools they sought to understand the food system at Stanford in order to make critical recommendations for reducing food waste on campus. They conducted interviews with a variety of stakeholders, prototyped solutions, and mapped the greater system.
